The Washington Area Development Economics Symposium (WADES) is a forum that highlights cutting edge development economics research at leading economic institutions in the Washington D.C. area. Faculty and graduate students from local universities have the opportunity to present and discuss their recent research at an annual one-day conference.
This year's event is hosted by the Department of Economics and the Center for Economics and Policy at the University of Maryland. Other participating institutions include the University of Virginia, Georgetown University, George Washington University, and George Mason University.
